"Buy this Phone! Great solution to Nextel and Sprint(or anyone) All the features+Great plan pricing!"

    by Salomonskier720 on July 18, 2007

Pros: Amazing Phone with Amazing Service Spring Power Vision (everything offered in sprint data services)+Nextel D.C. Solid phone+Cheap Data services Packages specially priced for PowerSource phones

Cons: Minor Details: -Cannot access all web pages on the internet(expected)+Unable to use the phone as a modem at this time. Caller ID doesn't always work

Summary: This is the best Sprint or Nextel phone I have ever seen and used! I would recommend this phone to anyone with sprint or Nextel services. Sprint users might want to switch just for the cheaper data service packages. Powersource voice plans are the same as any Sprint or Nextel plan (NO ROMING CHARGES, OR NATION WIDE DIRECT D.C. CHARGES EVER!!!)unless outside the US. This is b/c of the expanding coverage sprint/nextel offers. The Data Services are cheaper than the Sprint ones and they are 10 times better than anything Nextel will ever offer. 10$ for Everything(pix+flix) and 1000 text or 15$ for everything and unlimited text, pix, flix. Visit sprint.com and look up Powersource data services for a more in depth description.

This phone has everything. I am going to try and not repeat all the things already included in the C-net review.(Everything so far has been right) It has a very sturdy, rock solid feel to the phone. Bright vibrant display inside and out. Great picture quality(for a phone). Micro SD allows for long camcorder videos and lots of pictures and songs.

I really liked the direct connect feature because all of my friend have nextel, but I usually had bad service inside my house(not near a window) and pretty much every where else I went. I had been with nextel for a long time, I thought about switching service providers all of the time until sprint and Nextel combined. But for a while it seemed that they were never going to combine the towers. Then the hybrid phones came out. I waited for this particular model b/c it offered all the bells and whistles you could want with a phone. The PCS coverage is amazing compared to Nextels IDen. I now have service all throughout my house(AMAZING) and full bars pretty much every where else I go.

I use to have a Motorola i850. When it came time to transfer my contacts, all i had to do was take out my SIM from my i850 and insert it into the ic902. I was able to start the ic902 and copy the contacts directally onto the phone. I then put the ic902 SIM in and my contacts where right there(Very nice).
note:The Powersource phones have SIM cards
that only work with that exact phone.

Apparently you can use this phone as a modem but right now sprint doesn't support it. The caller ID is also a little screwy. Sometimes it displays who is calling or who sent me a text and other times it just displays the phone # although i have the contact saved.

The only thing that really upset me about the ic902 was that fact the in my area code(616) there was some sort of agreement where spring/nextel could not allow Powersource phones to work with that area code. This meant that I had to change to a (269) area code and change my cell #. I was told that this is an extremely rare occurance so I don't think anyone should worry. The tech support did allow me to pick out any area code across the entire U.S. though.

Tip: If you are currently A Nextel costumer(like I was) or mabye even If you are a sprint costomer. Don't just order the phone on ebay or at a store but instead call Nextel and talk to the account services and explain to them that you are getting poor service and that you don't know what to do. The support person will then more than likely suggest a Powersource phone at witch point you will say that you don't want to pay the full price b/c you want better service without a $500 phone. Leverage your multiple lines(if you have them) and act like you might cancel. I even said at one point"Nextel really doesn't seem like they want want me to be a valued costomer". The account services people should offer you the phone for at least under $200. I am not sure if this will work for everyone but it worked for me. I got my ic902 for around $100. Good Luck!!!

In conclusion this is an excellent phone even for the price and I don't feel bad at all for spending a little extra money to get the best service at the best price out there(it does help when I get an 18% discount every month). Email me if you want that discount or have any other questions that I might be able to assist you with.(I know how it is when you don't have the product in my possession) Salomonskier720@hotmail.com
